10174 | Waltero Ingeram was listed in 1280 Lay Subsidy rolls in Childrehaule, Worcestershire; which is now listed has Hanley William, near Tenbury. Hanley William or Upper Hanley, Hanley Child or Nether Hanley, 5 m. SE. of Tenbury. 8 1 7 Heanley, C. S. 360, 361; D. Hanlege', 1275 Childrehanle, Hanlee Wyllame; 1332 Chylderne- Henley, S. R. 'In pure A. S. this would be Hean leage (dat.) High lea (v. Ley). ' William ' and 'Child ' are M. E. additions to distinguish these places from other Hanleys ; ' William ' is probably the one rated in the S. R. of 1275; 'Child' perhaps means a person of that name, but Childre and Chylderne are gen. plural forms, meaning ' of children,' i.e. ' of young men,' so it is doubtful. ' Child ' was formerly applied to young men of gentle birth, as a kind of title generally in poetry. | Ingeram, Waltero (I126787)

10187 | Was a Baptist Preacher in Oklahoma. I am trying to research the DILLS, SKAGGS, and UNDERWOODS on my mother's side. I noticed that you submitted the names John T. SKAGGS and Mary Jane UNDERWOOD in Family Tree Maker. I believe these people are the same ones I am looking for. I don't know how much information you have on them, but I located and visited their graves in a cemetery at Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Here are the dates: John T. Skaggs Mary Jane Underwood b. Feb. 4, 1834 b. Sept. 14, 1836 d. Jan. 10, 1910 d. Jan 18, 1916 Census records indicate they are from Kentucky. I descend from their son, John Hamilton Skaggs, (b. Sept. 1867 d. Feb. 5, 1936 married Mary Ann Dills ) who was a Baptist Preacher in Oklahoma. Would you happento have additional information on the Skaggs, Underwoods, and what county they resided in Kentucky? I would appreciate anything you are willing to share, no matter how trivial. Sincerely, Farand Smith | Skaggs, John Hamilton (I44169)
