James Forester's will was written 26 May 1791 in Greenville County,South Carolina Named wife Elizabeth Sons Hardy, Richard, and John. He had several tracts of land, but one on Buck Creek was given to son John Forestor. Buck Creek was where Hugh Warren and the Warren family also lived prior to moving to Kentucky.

John Forester b. abt. 1766 VA, died Habersham Co. GA abt 1858. Johns father was possibly James Forester Jr., b. 1734 Orange Co VA His wife Elizabeth Grantchie VA, both died in Greenville Co. SC.

James Jr. was the son of James Sr., also of Orange Co. VA, born circa1700 place unknown. He died 1755, will recorded. His wife was Ann Ashley born abt 1700, died 1775. Other children of this couple besides James Jr. were William, Benjamin, Thomas, Jane and possibly John and Ann. James will found in archives of NC.

Book B - Greenville County, South Carolina Land Records Page 18-19 Deed of Conveyance. 13 February 1789. James Forester to Solomon Forester, both of Greenville Co., for 50pds sterling, 200 acres situate in Greenville Co., on the fork of Mush Creek, one of the head branches of Tygar River, adj. land laid out to Baylis Earle. The 200 acres being part of a tract of 269 acres granted to James Forestor by letters patent and recorded in Sec. Office Grant Book RRRR page 110, 5 Feb.1787. Wit: Hugh Warren, Jr., Hugh Warren, Sr. Signed James (F) Forester. Recorded 17 February 1789.

James Forester, who died in Greenville County, was the son of James Sr of Orange County, North Carolina and Orange County, Virginia.

James wife was Elizabeth Grantchie.

John Forester married Polly Grant, and was possibly the son of James Forrester of Greenville County. They were close neighbors in Greenville County. James and Elizabeth's known sons were John, Richard, and Hardin. Other children in the area also fit the timeframe. The eldest son was probably David, who is named in the records of the Tyger River Baptist Church as a brother of Hardin. Three other names who seem likely to have been elder sons of James and Elizabeth, are Solomon, Mark and Hutchens Forester, who were living in Greenville or Spartanburg County in thelate1790's. Solomon Forester was living on land that had been granted to James.

The Larue County Herald 13 May 1886 Mrs. Rhoda Skaggs, who is now over eighty years of age, has acurious relic of times that are long gone by. She has a cloak or shawl that was worn by her grandmother while living in England.  From best information obtainable, it is supposed to be over 200 years old, and is yet well preserved.

The Larue County Herald 18 February 1904 Rachel Despain of Malt is the owner of an old time cloak.  It was given to Mrs. Despain by her mother, Mrs. Rhoda Skaggs.  It was given to Mrs. Skaggs by her mother, Mrs. Rhoda Warren.  Mrs. Warren received it from her mother, Mrs. Rhoda FOSTER.  It is at least 200 years old.

Conveyances, deeds and bills of sales, 1786-1950
Conveyances, etc., vol. A-D 1786-1797  (Year - 1794)
Interesting deed, in that after father Henry Smith's death in 1792, Abraham was a
co-administrator. This land record indicates that some of the land (100 acres) once
owned by Henry Smith was to be transferred to Adam Meek. The land tract was
mentioned to have been granted to Henry Smith Sr. by Governor Tryon in the
year 1765, and was commonly callled Smithe old place.
