1860 Jasper County, Georgia Federal Census
28 July 1860
-
Mary Smith listed as head of household, age 39,
born Georgia; and listed as Weaver and Seamstress
All children born in Georgia as follows:
Sarah A. F. Smith (age 20), Elizabeth W. Smith (age 17),
Richard B Smith (age 17), William J. Smith (age 15),
Nancy A. T. Smith (age 12), Joseph H. Smith (age 10),
Joanna B. Smith (age 3), Boykin A. Smith (age 1),
Rufus H. Smith (age 2), and Julian S. Smith (age 1 month).
-
The youngest 4 children are likely the children of
daughter Elizabeth W. Smith.  The parentage is still
unclear but the children are believed to be associated
with William Crawford, but apparently did not take
the Surname (perhaps un-married).  William Crawford
died bef 1870, where Elizabeth W. Smith is a widow.
The 1870 Federal Mortality Census for Jasper County,
Georgia does not list a William Crawford, and likely
died befor this.
