6252 Leland Book and   ? History Book of Grafton p 518-519 (I can't deciphermany spellings and words from the family red covered ancestrybook. LUKC)

Came to America in 1652.  Coat of Arms of Leland.  Gules - a saltuisor a? charged with three Pallets azures.    chief or crest, with acrowrising transfixed with an arrow.  Cui Debro, Gudus.

"It is supposed he emigrated to America in 1652 as theEcclesiasticalRecords of Dorchester show that he united with thechurch in that town in1653.  After a short residence in Dorchester,Mr. Leland settled on atract of land, included in what was afterwardthe Town of Sherburne, where he resided until his death in 1680. It is believed on evidence derived from some ancient records, confirmedby tradition that Mr. Leland married previous to his removalto thiscountry.  It is much to be regretted that there are no sourcesofinformation for determining the circumstances connected with his leaving the land of his nativitytoventure upon a life of hardship in the wilds of America. All, however, who are conversant with the history of that periodwillreadily understand the cause of this deficiency.  In those'troublesometimes' in the midst of their labors-trials, our Fathersdid not providefor transmitting their history to unborn generations. There is good reason, however, for believing that Henry Leland wasaman in character like his comrades in those days, distinguishedforfirmness, courage, patient endurance and invincible moral andreligiousintegrity."

(FROM THE LELAND MAGAZINE or a Genealogical Record of Henry Lelandandhis Descendendents.  Henry Leland's will is recorded on page 10 ofthegenealogy.)

His first child Hopestill (died shortly after birth),  was born whileonhis passage from England, or very soon after his arrival in America, forit appears from the church records of Dorchester, that Hopestill, son ofHenry and Margaret Layland, was baptized in May 1653.  Thebirths of hisother four children, are entered upon the town records ofMedfield.  Theywere born before the existence of Sherburne as a toen, not in Medfield, but upon the land, which upon the incorporation of thetown of Sherburne, became a part of its territory.  His daughterExperience was married in1672 to John Colburn, settled in Dedham, andcontinued to reside thereuntil the time of her death.  His three sonssettled, lived and died inSherburne, near the place of their births. They appear to have beenprudent and industrious farmers, manifesting alively interest in thecivil, moral and religious welfare of the earlysettlers in Sherburne.Eleazer died at the age of fory-three;Hopestill, at the age ofseventy-four; and Ebenezer, at the age ofeighty -five.

6255 Lengthy Green County, Kentucky circuit court suit between William Barret and the Black family

6256 Lengthy Green County, Kentucky circuit court suit between William Barret and the Black family
heirs provided some general information of this family.  The suit was triggered after the 1833
death of father Jeremiah Black; and at that time; only Mary "Polly" Black had died before 1833.
During this lengthy suit; it was reported that Cornelius had died in 1836 in Texas.  Interesting
that is where his father died in 1833; and perhaps he was picking up where his father left off
when he also died.  This per deposition of Robert L. Graham on 10 February 1848, who stated
that Cornelius died in Texas about 1836. He (Robert) read a letter to the family informing them
of the death.  Cornelius left no issue.
Black, Cornelius (I42415)

6257 Lengthy Green County, Kentucky circuit court suit between William Barret and the Black family
heirs provided some general information of this family.   Jeremiah/Sarah had at least 10 children;
per one circuit court record of May 1842. The suit was triggered after the 1833 death of father
Jeremiah Black; and at that time; only Mary "Polly" Black had died before 1833.

The suit named the following children of Mary "Polly" Elmore as heirs:
William H. Elmore
Hiram P. (or T.) Elmore
Elizabeth Elmore (who was married to Isham Sanders)
Arena Elmore (who was married to Riley Sanders)
James J. Elmore
Black, Mary "Polly" (I8846)

6258 Lengthy Green County, Kentucky circuit court suit between William Barret and the Black family heirs provided some general information of this family.  The suit was triggered after the 1833 death of the
father of Jeremiah Black; also named Jeremiah. During this lengthy suit; Jeremiah Black Junior also
died.  He left two children; Gamaliel Black and Mary Jane Black.

After Jeremiah's death Mary Jane and Gamaliel were appointed a guardian in Monroe County, Kentucky. This meant that they were under 14 years of age at the time of fathers death. Guardians name was William Kingery.

6262 Lesser Poland Voivodeship (in Polish, województwo malopolskie [v?j?'vut?stf? maw?'p?lsk??]; Slovak: Malopolské vojvodstvo), also known as Malopolska Voivodeship or Malopolska Province,[1] is a voivodeship (province), in southern Poland. It has an area of 15,108 square kilometres (5,833 sq mi), and a population of 3,267,731 (2006).

It was created on 1 January 1999 out of the former Kraków, Tarnów, Nowy Sacz and parts of Bielsko-Biala, Katowice, Kielce and Krosno Voivodeships, pursuant to the Polish local government reforms adopted in 1998. The province's name recalls the traditional name of a historic Polish region, Lesser Poland, or in Polish: Malopolska. Current Lesser Poland Voivodeship, however, covers only small part of the broader ancient Malopolska region which, together with Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) and Silesia (Slask), formed the early medieval Polish state. Historic Lesser Poland is much larger than the current province. It stretches far north, to Radom, and Siedlce, also including such cities, as Stalowa Wola, Lublin, Kielce, Czestochowa, and Sosnowiec.

The province is bounded on the north by the Swietokrzyskie Mountains (Góry Swietokrzyskie), on the west by Jura Krakowsko-Czestochowska (a broad range of hills stretching from Kraków to Czestochowa), and on the south by the Tatra, Pieniny and Beskidy Mountains. Politically it is bordered by Silesian Voivodeship to the west, Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship to the north, Subcarpathian Voivodeship to the east, and Slovakia to the south.

Almost all of Lesser Poland lies in the Vistula River catchment area. The city of Kraków was one of the European Cities of Culture in 2000. Kraków has railway and road connections with Katowice (expressway), Warsaw, Wroclaw and Rzeszów. It lies at the crossroads of major international routes linking Dresden with Kiev, and Gdansk with Budapest. Located here is the second largest international airport in Poland (after Warsaw's), the John Paul II International Airport.

6264 Lets start with parentage for Richard; or better; eliminating who is not his father:

Hugh Ingram - born abt 1530 and father of Sir Art 1

Arthur Ingram (Sir Art 1) - b1565-1570 & married Susan Brown in 1596, and father of Sir Art 2.
Arthur Ingram (Sir Art 2) - b1597 & married Eleanor Slingby about 1620.
John Ingram - born about 1565-1570, also son of Hugh and brother to Sir Art 1

A lot of info throughout the genealogical websites and also very early historical documents state that immigrant Richard Ingram of Rehoboth, Massachuestts was the son of Sir Arthur Ingram and mother Eleanor Slingsby.  This Sir Arthur Ingram (Sir Art 2) was actually born in 1597 and did not marry Eleonor Slingsby until about 1620.

Myths or inaccuracies:

1 - Sir Arthur Ingram (Sir Art 2) who married Eleanor Slingsby could not have been the father of Richard Ingram who immigrated to Rehoboth, and was born circa 1595-1605. This Sir Arthur Ingram was not born until 1597, and was the Son of Sir Arthur Ingram and Susan Brown.

2 - Sir Arthur Ingram (Sir Art 1) who married Susan Brown in 1596 is a possible parentage for
Richard Ingram, the immigrant to Rehoboth, Massachusetts in 1630.  A John Ingram is listed
as a son of this Sir Art 1; but also listed as died in 1635. Other Ingram researchers have delved
into this and have not yet found a link.

3 - John Ingram (brother of  Sir Art 1) is also possible parentage for Richard Ingram, the immigrant
to Rehoboth, Massachusetts in 1630.  A record of Richard Ingram being christened/baptized on 18 March 1600 in Fishtoft, Lincolnshire, England listed a John Ingram as his father. This needs to be checked; so is also a possibility (I have placed Richard Ingram with this family only as a probability).

4 - False assumption in believing differences in spelling of last name Ingram, Ingraham, Ingeram have a bearing on lineage.  While DNA testing has found two distinct Ingram groups in England; the ancient name is more commonly spelled Ingram. In particular; most actual records for Sir Arthur Ingram listed his name as Ingram vice Ingraham.  It was not uncommon for mis-spelling due to the lack of writing
and spelling skills of those scribes/clerks responsible to do so.
