6685 | Lived in Green County, Kentucky. Moved to Johnson County, Indiana I have an old Green County, Query that tells a little about the Bailey family. It reads: Benjamin Bailey married Elzabeth Perry in Virginia. Benjamin Bailey had brothers Andrew, Hayman, and Thomas, all lived in Green County in the early 1800's. I would like to know the names of Elizabeth's parents. Benjamin and Elizabeth Perry moved to Johnson Co., Indiana about 1823, the other three brothers of Benjamin's moved into Tennessee and later to Mississippi. James Warren married Barbara Miller. James Warren's father was Hugh Warren Sr. and his brothers were Hugh Warren Jr. and William. All served in the Rev. War in S.C. James and Barbara lived 80 years together. James died in 1853 in Green County, Kentucky. Does anyone know whereabouts they are buried? Would also like to know who Barbara's parents are. 6689 | Lived in Knox County, Ohio in 1837; when he purchased 40 acres of land in Hillsdale County, Michigan on 7 November 1837. This land was located in Michigan; and was part of an area later known as the Toledo Strip; a disputed region of land between Michigan and Ohio. Some of this land area later became part of Ohio. Appears to have been married twice; first to Catherine Berse; per Erastus Colony records; and 2nd to Jennet Berse. Jennet is linked to Reuben Colony via headstone of child Almira Colony, with inscription that reads "Almira F. daughter of Reuben & Jennet Colony died Dec 25 1853, E. (age) 16 yrs". Jennet later is listed in Spence and Charleston townships, in Tioga County, Pennsylvania records. Jennet Colony is also listed in 1850 Tompkins County, New York records along with the Abigail Berse family; who listed Almira Colony in her household in this same 1850 census; just a few households away from Jennet Colony. I am now curious if Catherine Berse may have passed away; and if Jennet Colony may have also been of this same Bense family, perhaps a sister. Earlier Colony families that may be related in Tompkins County, New York is a John Colony, who is listed in Groton, Tompkins County, New York census records in 1830, born between 1790-1799. Listed in 1840 Knox County, Ohio Federal Census, with 2 boys under 5, and 1 girl under 5 and 1 girl between 5-10 years of age. May have also lived in Sandusky, Erie County, Ohio where a letter remained for him on October 1st 1849, as was published in the "Daily Snduskian", in Sandusky, Ohio on 2 October 1849 edition. The possibly reason the letter remained; is that he had returned to New York and had died in Albany, New York based on the 7 Aug 1849 Albany Evening Journal Newpaper, which listed as follows: A man by the name of Reuben Colony, a plasterer, of this city, was taken sick at the public house in Venice, last week, on Thursday. The tavern keeper was alarmed, and had him removed from his house to a building used for carding wool. Some of the neighbors attended him, but he died. | Colony, Reuben (I25757)

6693 | Lived in Sangamon County, Illinois. 10 October 1835 deed between William Black of Sangamon County, Illinois and Robert Black of Green County, Kentucky, for $50, interest in the estate of Jeremiah Black. Lengthy Green County, Kentucky circuit court suit between William Barret and the Black family heirs provided some general information of this family. Listed as deceased by 1847 in these suit records; but obviously in error; as William Black is listed on 1850 Federal census records in Sangamon County, Illinois. Was listed age 48, born in Kentucky with wife Anna age 45, also born in Kentucky. Most likely he no longer conversed with family after the interest of his portion of his father's estate was settled in 1835. | Black, William (I42413)
