Leona Thompson Bennett, 90 Leona Thompson Bennett, 90, of Buffalo, died April 7, 2005, atSunriseManor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Buffalo, where sheservedas a Sunday school teacher, clerk and treasurer for many years.She wasalso a former school teacher and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ernest Bennett; ason,Tommy Bennett; three grandchildren, Deborah Hill, Scott Price andDavidWesley Poteet; her parents, Thomas J. and Lizzie SalsmanThompson; twosisters, Beatrice Smith and Venita Tucker; and a brother,RobertThompson. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Frances Poteet and Edith B.(Jody)Price, both of Hodgenville; a daughter-in-law, Melba Bennett ofBuffalo;eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren;twostep-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; andfivestep-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held April 10, at 2 p.m. at Mt. TaborBaptistChurch with the Rev. Roger Pepper officiating. Burial willfollow in thechurch cemetery.
