J. R. Lasiter Jr.
Graveside services for J. R. Lasiter Jr., 86, of Elkhart will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Elkhart with the Rev. Eddie Atkinson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Lasiter died Friday in a Crockett hospital.
He was born Oct. 28, 1917 in Anderson County to John Reagan Lasiter and Mary Burrow Lasiter.
Mr. Lasiter was a member of Countryside Baptist Church in Latexo. He was an Army Veteran. He had been a General Contractor in Houston for 30 years prior to retiring. He moved to Elkhart in 1973 and became a rancher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Mary Francis Burkehardt.
Mr. Lasiter is survived by his wife, Bernice Beatrice Lasiter of Elkhart; daughter Carolyn Clark of Houston; sons: Richard L. Lasiter of Elkhart, Rhonald Lasiter of Anchorage, Alaska, Wendell Lasiter of Huntsville and John Lasiter of Trinity; brother Rupert Lasiter of Elkhart; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
