- Mattie Scott, 84, of Route 1, Buffalo, daughter of the late WillHenryWarren and Mary Allen Warren, died at 2:50 p.m., Friday, May 3,1985 ather home. She was a member of the Poplar Grove United MethodistChurch.She united in marriage to Emmett Scott Sr. February 4, 1920. Tothisunion seven daughters and two sons were born: James Ray Scottprecededhis mother in death Sept. 3, 1967 and Emmett Brooks Scott Jr.precededhis mother in death Oct. 2, 1942. Surviving are: Etha MaeSkaggs ofHodgenville; Dorothy Jean Sutter of Bloomington, Illinois;Mary Caulk ofCampbellsville, Star Route; Mattie Long of Route 1,Buffalo; Essie Allenof Fisherville; Juanita Pike and Betty Skaggs bothof Louisville. Besidesher husband, Emmett Scott Sr. of Route 1,Buffalo and daughters, she issurvived by 16 grandchildren; 11great-grandchildren; three brothers andone sister: Ida Scott ofBartonville, Illinois; Bee Warren ofCampbellsville, Star Route; JoeWarren and Lenzie Warren, both of Peoria,Illinois; several nieces andnephews and many other relatives andfriends. Funeral service was heldat 2 p.m., Monday, May 6, at the PoplarGrove United Methodist Churchin Taylor County by Dr. Rual T. Perkins andthe Rev. Elbert Hadley.Burial was in Poplar Grove United MethodistChurch Cemetery.Pallbearers were: Ronald Sutter, Bobby Caulk, GlenCaulk, Greg Pike,Gary Pike, and Thomas Clark. Parrott & Ramsey FuneralHome inCampbellsville was in charge of arrangements.
