- Emmett Scott, 90, a retired farmer of Poplar Grove Rd., in Buffalo,sonof the late James Hardin Scott and Sarah Jane Poteet Scott, wasborn inGreen Co., 22 Apr 1898. He died at 6:16 am Sat. 13 Aug 1988inCampbellsville after an illness. He was a member of the PoplarGroveUnited Methodist Church. He united in marriage to Mattie Warrenon 4 Feb1920. She preceded him in death 3 May 1985. He was preceded indeath by 2sons, James Ray Scott on 3 Set 1967, and Emmett Brooks ScottJr. on 2 Oct1942. He is survived by 7 daughters, Etha Mae Skaggs,Hodgenville,Dorothy Jean Sutter, Bloomington, Ill., Mary Caulk,Campbellsville,Mattie Long, Buffalo, Essie Allen, Fisherville, Ky.,and Juanita Pike andBetty Skaggs, both of Louisville; 16grandchildren; 13great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Perdie Scott,Bartonville, Ill; severalother relatives and many friends. The funeralwas at 2 pm Tues. 16 Aug atthe Poplar Grove United Methodist church bythe Rev. Elbert Hadley andthe Rev. Lester Carter. Burial was at PoplarGrove United MethodistChurch Cem. Pallbearers were Ronald Sutter,Bobby Caulk, Glen Caulk, GregPike, Gary Pike, Bobby Wood and ThomasCook. Parrott & Ramsey FuneralHome in Campbellsville was in charge ofarrangements.
