Notes |
- Note 0:
Not yet proven to be the son of Juan Joseph Martinez and Maria Guajardo,
although highly likely, given surnames used.
Note 1: Death info:
[Juan] Francisco Martinez Guajardo is quoted in many records as having
died in 1607. The records noted in the timeline below indicate he was
living in Monterrey in the year 1626 and possibly noted as living until
1635.
Note 2: Name variations
Nearly all records list Juan Francisco Martinez Guajardo simply as
Francisco Martinez Guajardo.
Note 3: Parentage
It is widely accepted and written in many records that Francisco's
surname(s) were Martinez Guajardo and sometimes simply Martinez
or simply just Guajardo. Family members also took these names in
whole or part. What is not yet proven is exactly who is parents were,
since no source info has been provided.
I have seen Francisco's father listed as Joseph Martinez Gomez or
Juan Martinez Gomez and his mother listed as Maria Guajardo.
Note 4: Place of Birth
Also in dispute is Francisco's place of birth, with some records stating
Lepe, Huevla, Spain and other records noted as El Bonillo, Albacete,
Castilla La Mancha, Spain, and others simply as Spain. Have yet to find
source for any of these records.

Pages 45-46 (Years 1615-1618)
As can be seen, the re-accommodations that occurred in the jurisdiction of Monterrey affected Saltillo in various ways; its economy and trade increased, but there were also important changes in the political sphere. Between 1615 and 16818 the activity of the town council of Saltillo was greatly diminished, the meetings were more sporadic and with irregular attendance. Its main members: Bernabe de las Casas, Francisco Martinez Guajardo, Marcos Gonzalez, Juan de Farias, Diego Nunez de Miranda, Diego de Trevino and Juan de Abrego, among others, were absent for long periods of time from the town to attend to their particular interests related to with the mining discoveries in the jurisdiction of Monterrey.
