Mr. George H. Dearen, Sr., 78, a retired farmer of the Meadow Creek Community in Taylor County, Campbellsville, Route 5, son of the late Mr. William Henry "Bud" Dearen and Mrs. Betty Parrott Dearen, was born in Green County, Kentucky, September 13, 1895. He died at 2:30 a.m., Saturday, December 8, at the Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville. He had been a patient there for the past three months. He had professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Bethel First Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of World War I. He united in marriage to Miss Jennie Douglas, August 16, 1930. To this union one son was born. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Mr. George Henry Dearen, Jr. of Campbellsville, Route 5; one grandson and one granddaughter: Mr. Daryl Dearen and Miss Patricia Ann Dearen, both of Campbellsville, Route 5. He is also survived by one brother and one sister: Mr. W. G. "Billy" Dearen of Campbellsville and Miss Mary E. Dearen of Campbellsville, Route 5; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 9, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev. Fred Reed and Rev. Joe T. Sudduth. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ralph Burress, W. J. Mitchell, Charlie M. Summers, Dwight Sandidge, Lynwood Mitchell, and Earl Cain.
