- Mrs. Sheard Lillian Mildred Oustad Sheard, 88, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005,atHamilton General Hospital. Funeral services with mili-tary honors were held Saturday, July 2,atRiley Funeral Home with Lyn Rice officiating. Bur-ial was in theCenterValley Cemetery. Mrs. Sheard was born Oct. 8, 1916, in Ireland, the daugh-ter ofMartinEdward and Eula Viola Foller Oustad. She was married to AlbertEdwardSheard on May 25, 1946, in Philadelphia. She and her husband owned a restaurant in Philadelphia for manyyears.She was a veteran of World War II, enlisting with the Women'sAuxiliaryAir Corps on Aug. 30, 1943, and arriving in Europe on June28, 1944.During her service, she earned the American Theater CampaignMedal, EAMECampaign Medal with one bronze star, Good Conduct Medal,Victory Ribbon,Over-seas Service Bar and WAAC Service Ribbon. She mether husband-to-bein London dur-ing the war. They were married 59years, one month andthree day She was a member of the DAV and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruby ViolaOustadByrd and Jewel Inga Oustad Lucas; and three brothers, Tom B.Oustad,James Edward (Jake) Oustad and Billy J. Oustad. Survivors include her hus-band, Albert Edward Sheard of Hamilton; ason,Robert Martin (Bobby) Sheard and wife Emma of Alvarado; adaughter,Catherine Inga Sheard Musolf of Bayville, N.J.; twogrand-daughters,Kayse Leann Sheard Myers of Teague, and JeannineMusolf Bates ofGlenside, Pa.; a great-grandson, Andrew Cale Myers ofTeague; twosisters, Margaret Oustad McCarty of Canton and MarthaOustad Rice ofHico; two brothers, Martin (M.E.) Oustad Jr. of MarbleFalls and LarryWayne (Buster) Oustad of Arlington; and many nieces andnephews. Pallbearers were Jason Rice, D.D. Oustad, Marty Oustad, JamieWeaver,Martin Edward Oustad, Steve Grilley, Joshua Fitzwater and CadeGrilley. Memorial donations may be made to the Center Valley CemeteryBuildingFund at First National Bank in Hamil-ton.
