- Charles Robert Lee, 72 Charles Robert Lee, 72, of Hodgenville passed away Jan. 17, 2006,atHardin Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He served his country in the Army in the mid 1950�s. He lovedfarming andraising cattle. He built his home in 1969 and several otherbarns etc.,around LaRue County. He worked at Bourbon Stock Yards inthe early1960’s, then he owned Lee Auto Parts and Garage inHodgenville until1978. In 1975 he built Lee’s Custom Slaughter, whichhe retired from in1999 after 25 years. He loved fishing, hunting andwoodworking, but themost important things in his life were his familyand friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and NellieSprowlesLee; and three brothers, Walter Lee, Al Lee and Henry Lee. He is survived by his wife of 51 years; Joyce Easton Lee; adaughter,Sharon (Larry) Allen of Buffalo; two sons, Charles Murray Leeand MichaelDavid Lee, both of Hodgenville; two sisters, Laverne MartinofCincinnati, Ohio, Thelma Mitchell of Louisville; threegrandchildren,Christy (Ethan) Ferguson, Tiffany Lee and ChristopherAllen; threegreat-grandchildren, Kylie, Haley and Gavin Ferguson; aspecial UncleJoel Ray Sprowles; a special nephew, Bob Lee; andnumerous nieces andnephews. The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Jan. 19, 2006 at Billy HowellFuneralChapel in Hodgenville with the Revs. Gordon McDowell and RodneyTroutmanofficiating. Music was provided by Ronnie Benningfield. Burial followed in Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo.
