- Record of Commissioner Deeds - Taylor County Court Whereas is the action of Thomas Coakley Surviving Partner of Hazelwood & Coakley - Plantiff against Michael Scott & his wife Malissa Scott - Defendants, pending in the Taylor Circuit Court as order was entered at the October Term, 1880 directing R. E. Puryear Special commissioner of said Court, to expose for sale at public auction to the highest bidder, the property hereinafter described and WHEREASsaid property was sold in accordance with said order, on the Sixth day of December 1880 for the sum of One Hundred and Twenty Five Dollars and (zero) cents, when Thomas Coakley became purchaser thereof and WHEREAS the report of said sale was confirmed by said Court at the October Term, 1881, and at the October Term, 1881, an order was entered directing R.E.Puryear Special Commissioner, to execute a deed of conveyance of said property to said Thomas Coakley but for greater certainty the record and proceedings in said case are referred to. Now, therefore this Indenture made and entered into this (Blank) day of October 1881 between between Michael Scott and his wife Malissa Scott by R. E. Puryear Special commissioner aforesaid, have sold and by this writing o convey to said party of the second part, and his heirs, assigns forever, the following described property, to wit: A tract of land lying and being on the waters of Little Brush Creek in Taylor Co. Ky; and bounded as follows-viz: On the east by the land of Felix G. Warren; On the West by land of Cassander Hazelwood; On the North by land of John Wood and on the South by land of Joshua Beard containing fifty acres more or less it being land inherited by said Malissa Scott from her father Avery Warren decd. To have and to hold said property with its appertances unto said grantee his heirs and assigns. The said commissioner conveys the right, title and interest, legal and equitable of the said Michael and Malissa Scott in and to said property, and warrants the title thereto; so for as he is authorized by the judgement, orders, and proceedings in said cause, and no further; but he does not bind himself personally by anything contained herein, in any event, whatever. In testimony Whereof, said R. E. Puryear Special commissioner aforesaid, has hereunto subscribed his name this (Blank) day of October,1881. R.E. Puryear Special commissioner T.C.C. Acknowledged by the commissioner,examined and approved in open Court, this 15th day of October, 1882. C. A. Hardin, judge TCC State of Kentucky, Taylor Circuit Court - Sct Tho E. Greene, Clerk of the Taylor Circuit Court, do hereby certify that this Deed from Michael & Malissa Scott by R. E. Puryear, Special Commissioner of said Court toThomas Coakley was on the 15th day of October 1881, presented in open Court by R.E.Puryear, Special commissioner, and was by him duly acknowledged to be his act and deed. And the said Deed having been examined by the Court, was approved and confirmed, and so indorsed by the judge, and ordered transmitted, duly certified, to the Clerk of the Taylor County Court for record, which is now done accordingly, Given under my hand this 20th day of October 1884 Attest: Tho E. Wright, Clerk of the Court do hereby certify that the foregoing Deed from Michael & Malissa Scott By R. E. Puryear, Special commissioner of the Taylor Circuit Court,to Thomas Coakley was produced to me in my office on the 16th day of March 1882, certified as above record.
