  John, eldest son of Sir Robert--John de Bures, eldest son and heirandnamed as such in the inq. p.m. on his father's estate, was 32 years old atthetime. Yet he is practically ignored in the disposition of Sir Robert'sestate.The reason may be that he was his mother's heir and succeeded to herlanded property which according to the inq. p.m. at the time of her deathin1302 was considerable. Moreover it is to be noted that none of theestatesmentioned in this document appear in the inquisition at the time of Robert deBures'death.
