92, of Rice Lake died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at Heritage Manor. Visitation runs 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals, Rice Lake, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service Wednesday at Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, Wis.
Ralph W. Manecke, age 92, of Rice Lake, WI died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the Heritage Manor in Rice Lake, WI.
He was born to Walter and Laura (Berger) Manecke on January 30, 1916 in Wausau, WI. After he left the orphanage, he farmed with Ted Schieffer and later owned and operated his own Dairy Farm in Dobie until 1977. On April 14, 1936 he was married to Rose Leibel in Dobie, WI. Ralph also worked as a block layer, for the railroad, Bergeron's Feed Mill, Rice Lake Implement and Seneca Canning Factory. On June 5, 1965 he was married to Lorraine Bryngelson in Barron, WI. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Forrester's, Moose Club and was very active in the church. Ralph was president of the PTA of the Rice Lake High School. He loved to farm and take care of his cattle and also loved his children and had an incredible sense of humor.
Ralph is survived by 9 children, Richard (Carolyn) Manecke of Underwood, IN, Ruthann Beranek of Rice Lake, WI, Ronald (Colleen) Manecke of Brill, WI, Rita (Joe) Scheynost of Cameron, WI, Roger (Sandi) Manecke of Janesville, WI, Rodney Manecke of Onalaska, WI, Lance (Heather) Manecke of Cameron, WI, Donald (Stacey) Manecke and Darwin (Lynn) Manecke both of Rice Lake, WI; 21 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Rose Manecke in 1961 and Lorraine Manecke in 2003; his parents, Walter and Laura Manecke; 4 brothers, Walter, Lloyd, Vince and Norman Manecke; a son-in-law, Wayne Beranek and a daughter-in-law, Lannette Manecke.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI, Father David Oberts officiating, with interment in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 8 PM Tuesday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals and for 1 hour prior to the funeral at the Church.
