- Arthur Earl Waldrop Greenville
Arthur Earl Waldrop, 89, formerly of 244 Ledford Farm Road, FairPlay,died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at Stroud Nursing Home.
Born in Marietta, S.C., he was a son of the late James Jordan andMollyStreadwick Waldrop.
Mr. Waldrop retired from Union Bleachery after 44 years of service.Hewas a member of Sam Poe Lodge and was a former Boy Scout Leader forTroop22. Mr. Waldrop was a Sunday School teacher for many years and aDeaconof Parisview Baptist Church and was also a member of Beaver DamBaptistChurch.
Surviving are a daughter, Joan Wade, and her husband, Jerry, ofEasley;three sons, Wilton Waldrop and his wife, Frances, of Greer,WallaceWaldrop and his wife, Betty, of Travelers Rest, and JimmyWaldrop and hiswife, Pat, of Greenville; two sisters, Ethel Barnett ofGreenville andMary Phillips of Norfolk, Va.; a brother, Benson Waldropof Greenville;six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Sarah Nix Waldrop; his secondwife,Evelyn Bagwell Waldrop; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Thomas McAfee FuneralHome,Northwest with visitation from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., prior to theservice atthe funeral home. Burial will be in Grand View MemorialGardens.
