- Raymond K. Steinwand Raymond K. Steinwand, 79, of Akron, passed away July 31, 2007 at Akron City Hospital.
He was born January 6, 1928 in North Dakota to the late Frank and Nellie (Bauckland) Steinwand. Ray spent many years as a carpenter,building many homes in the Akron area. He loved to play pinocchle and dancing with the gang at Kimbolton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his firs twife,Joyce Steinwand; son, Bradley Steinwand; and granddaughter,Samantha Steinwand. He is survived by his wife, Gladys V. Steinwand of Akron;daughter, Roxann Field of Dayton; sons, Terry (Kathy) Steinwand of Akron, Mark Steinwand of Arizona and Jeff Steinwand of Barberton;stepdaughters, Debra (Mark) Saller of Akron, Sandy (Roy) Foutty of Akron, Edie Wells of Wadsworth and Edna (Dick) Raffle of Norton;step-sons, David Wells, Gary Wells (Bev), Bob Wells and Dennis Wells,all of Akron; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home,131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1p.m., with Rev. Scott Campbell officiating.
