- Praxedes Padilla 1906-2005
Praxedes Padilla, a longtime resident of Belen, died peacefully athomeon Tuesday, Oct. 4, in the presence of her children. She was amember ofOur Lady of Belen Catholic Church and belonged to the BlessedSacramentSociety. She was born in La Joya to Juan Thomas Griego andTomasitaBarela Griego on Dec. 7, 1906.
Praxedes was preceded in death by her husband Sesario, son Wilfred,anddaughter-in-law Eva.
She is survived by two sons, Martin and wife, Corinne, and Evisalio,allof Belen; grandchildren, Anthony and wife Melva of Littleton,Colo.,Angela and husband, Rod Brown, of Albuquerque, Martin Ray andwife,Deborah, of Pompano Beach, Fla., Paula of Albuquerque, MaryFrances andhusband, Tony Coen, of Glendale, Ariz., Patricia andhusband, Don Cullen,of Las Cruces, Armando and wife, Christina, andMario, all of La Mirada,Calif. Also surviving are great-grandchildren,Roberto, Kristi, Tanya andMarianne and great-great-grandchildren,Christopher and Alysa Reyes,Bryan and Eva Cullen and Cayah and XavierPadilla of Littleton, Colo.
A funeral Mass for Mrs. Padilla will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday,Oct.8, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, where a viewing willbegin at8:30 a.m.. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A rosarywasrecited on Friday at the church with a viewing.
