- James L. Shofner, 68, Smith Ridge Road in Campbellsville, son of thelateLee Shofner and Cattie Risen Shofner, was born in Taylor CountyOct. 17,1924. He died at 3:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 26, 1992, inCampbellsville. Hewas a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church andan employee ofTaylor County RECC. He was also a member of the MysticTie Masonic Lodge#450 F&AM. He was married to Helen Griffin on Feb. 9,1945, who survives.Besides his wife, Shofner is survived by onedaughter, Judy Hunt,Campbellsville; three grandchildren, Jeremy Read,Campton, Ky., ChrysleeYork and Jacklyn York, both of Campbellsville;several other relativesand many friends. He was preceded in death bythree sisters, OmaCottrill, Ethel Sidebottoms, and Bessie Sidebottoms.The funeral was at 3p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Parrott & RamseyFuneral Home inCampbellsville. The Rev. Bob Martin and the Rev. HermonWilkinsofficiated. Burial was in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.Activepallbearers were Dennis Bays, Burr Mardis, Stanley Sallee, GlenMurray,Joe Thomas Morris and Leon Lewis. Honorary pallbearers wereactive andretired employees of Taylor County RECC.
