- Obituaries Marjorie J. Struna Marjorie J. Struna, 88, long time Salida resident, died March 11,2005,at Heart of The Rockies Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Struna was born Nov. 15, 1916, in Hiawatha, Utah, to JohnandFrances Rovsek. She grew up in Utah and later moved to Michigan. During thedepression,she worked several jobs and went on to work as a typist forthe military. In the early 1940s she was a clerical stenographer for BrigadierGeneralJames Doolittle at Inspection Station, AAF Procurement SectioninDetroit, Mich. Mrs. Struna worked at Salida Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1976.Sheloved music and played the accordion, piano and guitar. She lovedto singwith her children around the piano. She loved the outdoors and hiked in the mountains as often as shecould.Her fondest times were spent at the family cabin in Cotopaxi. Mrs. Struna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, LouisStrunaand daughter Margie Garrison. She is survived by children, Louis (Carol) Struna, Frances(Tony)Pasquale’ and Mary (John) Hall, all of Salida; Al (Marcy) StrunaofHartsel; brothers, Fritz (Jenny) Rovsek of Calif.; Eddie Rovsek ofMich.and sister, Frances Rovsek of Mich.; grandchildren, Jason andJustinGarrison, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; Louie Struna, Beany Struna,ShelleyArchuletta, Joshua McBride-Hall, Mandy Struna, Jake Hall andBreanne Hallall of Salida; Lisa Pasquale, Tony Pasquale and DanielMcBride-Hall allof Denver and 13 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St.JosephCatholic Church. Friends who want may make memorial contributions to the St.JosephHelping Hands or Angel of Shavano Hospice. Arrangements are with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
