Tony A. Marlette, 82, of Fairton died Friday, June 3, 2005, in theSouthJersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Vineland. He hadbeen infailing health for the past year.
Mr. Marlette was born in Wise County, Va., and was the son of thelateJames and Lucy Valella Miletta. He was a resident of Fairton for50years, coming from Bridgeton, where the family moved in 1924. Priortohis retirement 20 years ago, he had been employed with the formerP.J.Ritter Co. in Bridgeton for 32 years, and after their closing heworkedfor Kerr Glass Co. in Millville for six years. Tony was agraduate ofBridgeton High School, class of 1943, where he playedfootball and was apitcher on the baseball team. He was a member of theItalian-AmericanPolitical Club, the Moose Lodge and enjoyed fishing,playing cards, wasan avid bowler and enjoyed spending time with hisgrandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Betty Auger Marlette; threesons,Tony R. Marlette and his wife, Elaine of Cedarville, Michael W.Marletteof Fairton and Richard E. Marlette and his wife, Donna of StowCreekTownship; two daughters, Debbie L. Mangini and her husband, LanceofFairton and Donna J. Cope and her husband, David of Millville;sevengrandchildren, Dawne C. Johnson, SSGT Jason P. Johnson, servingin Iraq,Angel M. Emery, Danielle R. Emery, Tony J. Marlette, Nicole M.Marletteand Tyler Marlette; one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn M. Long;onesister, Mary Buirch of Cedarville; three brothers, Vito J.Marlette,Frank "Chick" Miletta and his wife, Dixie of HopewellTownship and Samuel"Butch" Miletta of Bridgeton; and many nieces andnephews. He waspreceded in death by a brother, Dominick "Yodel"Miletta; his wife,Doreen Miletta; a sister-in-law, Myrtle Miletta; anda brother-in-law,Raymond Buirch.
The Rev. Michael Pangburn, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church,Bridgeton,will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Friday in thePadgett FuneralHome, 1107 State Hwy. 77, Upper Deerfield Township.Burial will be inFernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Township. Friendswill be received from7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
