GILSON - Herman J. Gebert Sr., 56, 1043 Illinois 97, died at 3a.m.Thursday (Dec. 1, 2005) in his home. He was born March 29, 1949, in Minneapolis, the son of Charles LouisandPeral Anderson Frans Gebert.
He married Margaret Ann Ray on July 3, 1971, in Gilson.
Surviving are his wife, Ann; a son, Herman John Gebert Jr., whoisstationed with the Army in Germany; a daughter, Angelene Michelle(andJose) Gebert Beltran, Gilson; and four grandchildren. He waspreceded indeath by his parents and a brother.
He graduated from Minneapolis North High School in 1967 and fromtheUniversity of Minnesota in 1971.
He was a radio station manager and worked in sales for 30 years atKHEPand KGCB in Phoenix and Prescott, Ariz., and at WAIK and WGILinGalesburg and WMOI in Monmouth. He also worked at Karmark TireandAutomotive in Galesburg.
He had lived in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Galesburg and Gilson.
He was a member of Community Bible Church in Knoxville, where hestartedthe visitation ministries that called on nursing homes andsenior centersin the area. He also was associated with the Knox CountyMinisterialAssociation.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Knoxville Cemetery,withthe Rev. Doug Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m.Sundayat Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.
