VANCEBURG -- Maurice Edwin Carroll, 70, of Vanceburg, died Friday,Jan.27, 2006, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was a retired self-employed plumber and electrician with theVanceburgHousing Authority. He was a U.S. navy veteran of World War IIand amember of the Church of the First Born.
Mr. Carroll was born Oct. 1, 1935 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son ofEdithWilcoxin Carroll of Vanceburg and the late Maurice Carroll.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, NinaLewisCarroll; five sons, Kevin (Melinda) Carroll of Tollesboro,AnthonyCarroll of Vanceburg, Robert Carroll of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.,RickCarroll (Darlene Bilyue) of Vanceburg and Gary Ray (Teresa)Carroll ofTollesboro; grandchildren, Steven Ray, Angel, Jeffrey andStephen; agreat-granddaughter, Karlee; and four brothers, Kenneth(Ruth) Carroll ofVanceburg, Marcus (Regina) Carroll of Ashland, Craig(Etta) Carroll ofVanceburg, and Patrick (Tina) Carroll of Polmeroy,Ohio.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Wayne, Gary Lee, MiltonandLonnie.
Services are 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at Dickerson FuneralHomewith Bro. Herman Tolle officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens at Vanceburgwithgraveside military rites by the Veterans of Foreign Wars MonteStamm Post5438 of Vanceburg.
Visitation is from 4 until 9 p.m., Sunday and from 8 a.m. until thehourof the service Monday at the funeral home.
