- Lizzie Kessinger, 82, of Buffalo, Route 1, died at 3:45 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, 1985 at the McDowell Wing in Greensburg after an illness. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Henry Clay Kessinger Jan. 24, 1929. He preceded her in death July 26, 1970. To this union two sons and two daughters were born: Marie Cruse of Magnolia; Blanche Tweddy of East Lake, N.C.; Arvin Kessinger and Berney Kessinger, both of Buffalo, Route 1. Besides her children, she is survived by 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers and eight sisters: Herman Nelson and William Nelson, both of Buffalo, Route 1; Mrs.Ollea Underwood of Greensburg; Effie Lewis of Louisville; Katie Sprowles, Gertie Warren, Connie Hall, Anna Skaggs, Louise Skaggs, and Norma Jean Wise, all of Campbellsville, Star Route; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral was at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9 at the Corinth Baptist Church in Larue County by the Rev. Garlen Skaggs and the Rev. Lindell Sexton. Burial was in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Harold Cruse, Ronnie Cruse, Leon Kessinger, Ricky Kessinger, Mike Kessinger, and Mark Kessinger.
