ROMINES, GEORGIA GREENE - age 87, of Knoxville passed away May 24, 2009. She was born in Halls and of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by husband, Floyd Romines; parents, Charles and Stella Greene; brothers, Charles Greene, J.W. Greene; sisters, Naomi Greene, Helen Greene, Mildred Miller, Blanche Newberry. Survivors, daughter, Shirley Steady, Knoxville; step-daughter, Susan Scaggs, Lawrenceville, GA; sister, Sue Portwood and husband David, Birmingham, AL; brother-in-law, Dormal Newberry and wife Kathy, Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Micki Milbury, Kensington, NH; Susan Geames, Franklin, TN, Robert Steady, Hollywood, MD; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Young-Williams Animal Center, 3201 Division Street, Knoxville, TN 37919. Family and friends will meet in Greenwood Cemetery at 10:45 am, Thursday for graveside services at 11 am. with Rev. John Holland officiating.
