After the death of Sarah MOORE NOLEN, Pethado married Mrs. Sarah E. Henry
NEWMAN, on 8 July 1883. They had one child who is also listed in the bible
records of Pethado NOLEN as Lee R. NOLEN born March 19, 1887. After her
death, Pethado again remarries, this time to Lucinda MOORE DIXON, a sister
of Sarah Elizabeth MOORE, and widow of John Foster DIXON. Pethado and
Lucinda married on 18 Jan. 1893.

Pethado NOLEN was born in Wilson Co., Tennessee 11 April 1838; died Dec. 8th at his home in West Frankfort. He was the son of Daniel and Lucinda NOLEN, both of whom were natives of North Carolina who removed to Tennessee and later, in 1854 came to Franklin County, Illinois, where they moved to a farm in Crawford's Prairie. Pethado enlisted in the Union Army in 1861 and served until 1865. He was in Sherman's March to the Sea and took part in the Grand Review in Washington. He first married Sarah E. MOORE in 1860; she died in 1882. There was born to this union ten children, Dwight, who died in infancy, William, Hugh, Mrs. Floyd TA"YLOR, Daniel, Wilfred, Lewis, John, Willis and Sarah E. NOLEN. Willis preceded his father in death. In 1883 Pethado married Sarah I. NEWMAN, she died in 1893. One child, Lee NOLEN, who now lives in Sparta, blessed this union. In 1893 he married Lucinda E. DIXON (she was the former Lucinda MOORE and a sister to his first wife). Pethado was a member of the First Baptist church of West Frankfort at the time of his death.

Addresses given in April 1916 and may have been different in 1912.

Other: In October 1914, SINKS files a petition to enable him to sell the lands to pay the debts against the estate.
Later it was stated that since the death of Pethado, his son, Hugh NOLEN has died, leaving as his heirs, his wife, Iva NOLEN, and children, Arlie, aged 9; Daisy, aged 7; Bertha, aged 5, and Ethel NOLEN, aged 3, all of Benton, Illinois.
The petitioner further states that Minerva NOLEN is the wife of Willie NOLEN; that Lucy is the wife of Dan NOLEN; that Anna NOLEN is the wife of Wilfred NOLEN; that Cora NOLEN is the wife of John NOLEN; that Sue NOLEN is the wife of Lee NOLEN; that Maggie NOLEN is the wife of Lewis NOLEN; and that Floyd TAYLOR is the husband of Dora TAYLOR. That the widow, Lucinda E. NOLEN has remarried and is now Lucinda E. MOODY. That Lucy DEPRIEST is the mother of Oran NOLEN, aged 13 on 22 January 1918 and that Oran has about $150 in cash in the hands of your petitioner and a 1/9th interest in the land.
