Born 5th January 1889 at Warwick; resided at 93 Broad Street; Killed in action Loos, 25th September 1915.
Buried Cabaret_Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez
After serving all through the campaign with the 2nd Bn RWR Cpl E.Bench son of Mrs.Bench 95, Broad Street, Coventry has been killed in action. His cousin who is in the same Bn says that CorpL Bench was wounded and placed in the transport to be taken to the dressing station, but he got away and returned to the thick of the fighting. He was a very popular NCO and will be much missed.
