- JOHANNA JOSEPHINE WORTH May 25, 1927 December 21, 2005 Funeral services for Johanna J. Worth, 78, of Newark, Ohio will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Interment will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Johanna died at her home in Newark on Wednesday, December 21, 2005. She was born in Newark, Ohio on May 25, 1927 to the late Daniel J. and Mary I. (Miller) Scanlon. She was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas where she worked in the Molded Pipe Division. Johanna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Frances Walz, her daughter, Diane Walz, all of Newark; 6 grandchildren, Carla Walz, David Walz, Jr, David and Laura Smith, Joseph Smith, Saprina Kalb, and Steven and Dana Smith; many great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, William, James, and Maurice Scanlon, all of Newark; many nieces and nephews; and her special puppy companion,Mikey. In addition to her parents, Johanna was preceded in death by her grandson, Eric Walz; her brothers, Dan, Frank, John, and Pat Scanlon; and her sisters, Catherine Steele, Gainelle Swanger, Jane Andrews, and Mary Scanlon. Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M, Friday, December 23, 2005 at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd, Newark.
