  Noted in lengthy 1801 Property ownership documents as the step-son of Mateo Trujillo. The various documents also list that Diego's mother was Maria de Tapia, who was married to Mateo Trujillo.  These documents are noted between 25 Jun 1801 through 24 August 1801 in ancestry.com files under the heading "Land Records of New Spain, 1692-1916".  They also include Francisco Trujillo, the father of Mariano Trujillo and Joseph Trujillo.
