Notes |
- With the exception of a few records located in Santa Clara, New Mexico
parish, most records for this family are listed in Holy Cross, Santa Cruz,
New Mexico.
Not to be confused with the Juan Diego Trujillo that was married 1st to
Rufina Barela and then on 29 March 1751 to Juana Benavides.
Parentage still being sorted out, but this Diego was noted in the following
dispensations of two sons.
1789, Feb. 13 (no. 37), Santa Cruz. ALEJANDRO TRUJILLO, son of Diego
Trujillo and Juana Martinez, and Maria Manuela Archuleta , d. of Antonio
Luciano Archuleta and Maria Antonia Garcia. Pair dispensed, 4th degree
consanguinity, transverse line. Couple had aleady been married without
such dispensation.
(Note: the 4 generations of how the bride/groom were related was not
listed).
1790, April 22 (no. 17), Santa Cruz. CARPIO TRUJILLO (20), espanol of
El Potrero, son of Diego Trujillo and Juana Martin, both deceased, and
Felipa Madrid (20), d. of Roque Madrid and Antonia de Jesus Sandoval.
Wtnesses: Juan Bustos (62), Juan Duran (52), Antonio Martin (48),
Francisco Bustos (32).
(Note: Carpio Trujillo was baptized as Policarpio Trujillo, and some useful
information that was given in this dispensation is the both parents were
deceased by this date)
In the 24 August 1785 marriage record of son Jose Antonio Trujillo and
Ana Maria Borrego, it was noted that Diego Trujillo was already deceased.
It does not appear that Diego Trujillo/Juana Martin left the Santa Cruz area,
but could not find either person in death records searching from 1772-1795.
The microfilm records are basically unreadable for much of the year 1781,
and it could very well be where the death of Diego is located. Juana was
still living as of 24 August 1785, so unsure where her death record is
located.
