- Synthia's blindness was caused when one day she and John Miltonwerestanding together at the window watching a lightening storm. Theyhadn'tbeen married long and only had one child. A lightening boltstruck theirwindow and went right through and knocked them down. Theywere knockedunconscious. When they were revived, Synthia wasblind.This was takenfrom an oral interview of Milton T. Blackwell whoheard it firsthand fromhis grandfather, John Milton Blackwell.
