Albert Wong, 78, of Phoenix, Ari- zona, formerly of Los Angeles, Califo- nia, passed away on the 15th of July, 2002. He was the oldest son of Lee Shee and Yip Wong of Los Angeles. He had 7 brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fred. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Kay, and daughter Diana Wong, his son Michael Wong, all of Phoenix, AZ. His daughter Sally Wong-Nelson of Flagstaff, AZ. His younger sister Lois Patterson, and sisters, Ruth Huey and Mary Ashcavi. His brothers, Miron, David, and Percy all of Los Angeles, CA. His grandchil- dren, Terrence Wong of Phoenix, Eric Christopher Brunk, Sean Nelson, Daniel Nelson and Kaylee Nelson, of Flagstaff, AZ. Kenneth Wong of Minnesota and Kristina Schoppman of North Carolina. His great-grandchil- dren William and Anna Schoppman of North Carolina. Albert was born in Los Angeles and was a 30 year veteran. He served in the United Staters Air Force. He joined back when it was the Army Air Corps. He served in WWII and the Korea and Vietname conflicts as an electronic technician, he worked on military aircraft. He was drafted out of high school despite his mother's objections that he weighed 94 pounds and was not all enough, He distin- guished himself by serving 30 years. He wanted to be a pilot, but didn't meet the height requirements. He went to work for Arizona Printing Equip- ment Company in 1988. His hobbies included stamp collecting, model trains and books. He loved working with small tools and with his hands. He admired precision engineering and loved trains. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. and the service at 10:00 a.m. at Greer-Wilson Funeral Home, 5921 W. Thomas Road in Phoenix on Tuesday July 23rd. Burial will be at the National Memorial Cemetery for Veterans at 1:00 p.m. He will be buried with honors and Color Guard cere- mony. He will be missed terribly.
