Notes |
- According to Harlan Warren, born 1915, Big Pitman Creek can rise quickly and
become very dangerous to cross. His father, Rusaw Warren, whose farm was west of
the creek, used to drive a team of horses and haul supplies back and forth from
Campbellsville to Mac and Pitman. On occasion, the creek would rise and Rusaw
Warren and his team would stay in James Bell's barn, which was near the ford on the
east side of the creek, for which he was charged 15 cents. The ford is to the north of
the present concrete bridge over Big Pitman Creek and the road to the ford is still visible
in 2005.
