Mildred E. Urbanowski 87, formerly of 1400 Sixth Ave., StevensPoint,died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at the Encore Senior Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel,withthe Rev. Kenneth Knutson officiating. Burial will be atStephensCemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral chapel from 9 a.m. Saturday untiltheservices.
Mrs. Urbanowski was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Stevens Point, a daughterofthe late Edward and Elsie Olson. She attended local schools.
She entered the U.S. Army on Sept. 1, 1943, at Fort Des Moines, Iowa.Sheserved as a Tech 5 and received the Good Conduct Medal, VictoryMedal,American Theater Ribbon and the WAAC Ribbon. She served as thesupplyclerk in the 1789th SCU in Fort Meyer, Va. She was honorablydischargedat Fort Sheridan, Ill., on Jan. 24, 1946.
After returning to the area she worked at the United Cloak Shopindowntown Stevens Point.
She was married to Edward Urbanowski in 1956 in Milwaukee. He died inMay1989.
They settled in Milwaukee and stayed there until retirement whentheythen returned to the Stevens Point area.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and eight sisters.
