Nancy Hamilton Waldrop of Elyton, Jefferson Co., AL gave power of attorney to Luke Waldrop of Rutherford Co., NC to sell land willed to her by her father, Robert Hamilton. Her son, Preston swore he witnessed the deed to Jesse Brown J.P. The county clerk, James Thompson swore that John Brown was a J.P. Judge Peter Walker swore that James Thompson was the county clerk. Power of Attorney - Nancy (Hamilton)Waldrop to Luke Waldrop, Rutherford Co., NC. Deed Book 36, Page 256. "Nancy Hamilton Waldrop of Elyton, Jefferson Co., AL gave power of attorney to Luke Waldrop of Rutherford Co., NC to sell land willed to her by her father, Robert Hamilton. Her son, Preston swore he witnessed the deed to Jesse Brown J.P. The county clerk, James Thompson swore that John Brown was a J.P. Judge Peter Walker swore that James Thompson was the county clerk. Know all men by these presents that whereas I Nancy Waldrop of the county of Jefferson & State of Alabama am seized in full of one fourth part of a certain tract or parcel of land which formerly to my father Robert Hamilton in his life time on White Oak Creek in Rutherford County in the state of North Carolina. Now know ye that I the said Nancy Waldrop have made ? Appointed by these presents do make institute & appoint Luke Waldrop of the county of Rutherford in the state of No. Carolina my true & lawful attorney for me & in my name to lease the said land to such person or persons & for such term or no. of years or for life or lives & at & under such yearly or other rents as he shall think fit as otherwise to sell & dispose of the same absolutely in fee simple for such price or sum of money & to such person or persons as he shall think fit convenient & also for Ãâ‚ÂŒÃâ‚ÂŒ.named as my act & deed to sign seal execute & deliver such deeds & conveyances for the causing or the absolute sale & disposal therefore of any part thereof with such clauses covenants & acquitance to be therein ? as my said attorney shall think to fit & expedient hereby ratifying & confirming all such leases deeds conveyances bargain & sales which shall at any time hereafter be made by my said attorney touching or concerning the premises as testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the 6th day of February AD 1826.
