  WALTER HARRINGTON Walter Harrington, 82, of RD 1, Mansfield, died Sunday, May 8, 1988, in the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro where he was admitted last Tuesday. Born Nov. 11, 1905, at Nelson, he was the son of Bert and Edith Quackenbush Harrington. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Whitneyville United Methodist Church and was a member and former director of the Tioga County Fair Association for 17 years. He and his wife, the former Clare Lockwood, observed their 50th wedding anniversary last July 3. Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Wayne, of Wellsboro; a foster daughter, Mrs. Anna Mae Downs of Cal; a brother Glenn of Wellsburg, N.Y.; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services were today, Wednesday, May 11, at 1:30 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Sandra Essinger-Hileman, his pastor, officiated. Burial was made in Tioga County Memorial Gardens in Charleston Township.
