Ada
Maxine Plaugher, 67, died at 2:09 a.m. March 27, 2009, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born March 3, 1942, in Ada to Gerald R. and Dorothy J. Smith Fleming, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 29, 1962, she married Karlton D. Plaugher, who survives in Ada.
Mrs. Plaugher was a homemaker and had retired in 2007 as a claims secretary for Cole Humphrey Insurance, Ada, after 28 years. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Ada. She was a member of the Ada Quatre Club for several years. She was a 1962 graduate of Ada High School and received her cadet degree in education from Ohio Northern University in 1962.
Survivors also include a son, Kevin (Christy) Plaugher, of Granville; two daughters, LeAnn (Dennis) Miller, of Galloway, and Mandy (Ryan) Stubbs, of Hilliard; six grandchildren, Allison Vermillion, Ethan Vermillion, Emily Vermillion, Kate Plaugher, Lily Plaugher and Grace Miller; two brothers, Robert (Linny) Fleming, of Harrod, and Gary (Linda) Fleming, of Ada; and a sister, Helen (Howard) Umphress, of Ada.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Monna J. Vermillion; and a sister, Judy Reynolds.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Ada. Pastor David Coffin will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
