The Lord Jesus has called a precious soul home to join Him inHeaven.Robert Lee McKinney, 26, of Edmond, Okla., left his worn-outearthly bodyand went home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, Aug. 18,2006. He wasborn March 6, 1980, in Roswell, to Nathan and CarrolMcKinney.
Robert was a special child who had many friends. His smile andhappinesswere contagious and will be missed by all who knew him andloved him. Heloved music (of all types) especially Dolly Parton,riding around,trains, videos, movies, cheeseburgers, Cici's pizza andchilling underGrandma's tree in her front yard.
Those waiting for him in Heaven were his grandfathers, Bruce McKinneyandRoy Guthrie; grandmother, Leona Guthrie; uncle and best friend,TonyMcKinney; and step-grandma, Joyce Lockhart.
He is survived by his father, Nathan McKinney (who loved him greatlyandwill miss him terribly) and wife, Donna Cadman; mother, CarrollWyatt;brother, Cody Cadman of Aztec; sisters, Natasha Burns (Jason) ofOklahomaCity, Okla., Billie Jo Miller (Paul), and Johnnie Sue Schrock;brothers,Jimmy Robbe of Hereford, Texas, and Michael McKinney; andnumerous niecesand nephews. He is also survived by uncles, Marion andSteve McKinney ofFarmington, and Paul McKinney (Lynette) of Phoenix,Ariz.; and uncle,David Guthrie and aunt, Sandy Guthrie of Oklahoma.
His passing has left a huge vacancy in the life of hisgrandmother,Pauline McKinney of Farmington. Robert and his grandma hada very specialand unique bond that only very few have, and she lovedhim tremendouslyand will miss him greatly. His step-grandpa, DonaldLockhart, will alsomiss him. He will be missed by a special friend andguardian, PerryDennis of Oklahoma City; and by Brenda and O.C. Harper,with whom Robertspent three years. Robert was living in a care home,and will be missedby Chris and Walter who also live there, and bystaff members, David,Alesha and Tony.
Special thanks go to all the nurses, doctors and staff of Units 901,801,7 East and 5 East at the Integris Baptist Hospital of OklahomaCity.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 22,atAlternative Choice in Farmington. A farewell celebrationhonoringRobert's life will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, atLiberty ChristianFellowship, 710 W. Broadway in Farmington, with theRevs. Earl andChristy McQuitty conducting. Interment will follow atKirtland Cemeterywith the grave being dedicated by his great-uncle,Douglas Biggs.
A dinner will follow at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daySaints,4400 College Blvd. in Farmington.
