This Richard Waring or Warring, got a land grant for 400 acres in Craven Co, SC along the Sandy River in what is now Chester Co, SC. This land grant was from the Gov, Charles Montague. In 1775 he sold the land to a David Pruit or Pruet. In 1776 David and his wife Sarah leased part of the land to Nathaniel Cobb and then next year he leased another part to Benjamin Carter. A year later, each man bought the 100 acres they had leased. Now here is the question. I've noticed that others have been talking about some Warrings coming to MD in late 1600s. A James Cobb came in 1668 to Calvert Co MD. Later there was a Samuel Cobb who was in Somerset Co, MD. I'm attempting to track folks who came into the Craven Co, SC area who were from MD. Is there anyone who can shed lighton the Warrings who immigrated to MD? and whether any went to this area of SC? Thanks
