- Ruth Alice "Simpson" Denkers 1919 ~ 2005 Our beloved motherandgrandmother passed away January 22nd, 2005 in Omaha Nebraskafollowing acourageous battle with cancer. Ruth was born December 30th,1919 toDevina and William Simpson in Layton, Utah. Ruth married HaroldJohnDenkers March 30th, 1940. She was a lifelong resident of Salt LakeCity,Utah, moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 2002 to live with her son andfamily.She worked at "OC Tanners" and performed volunteer work atlocalhospitals for many years. Ruth loved her friends and the beautyof theworld around her; she was a member of The Church of Jesus ChristofLatter-day Saints. At her departure here, Ruth has been reunitedwith herhusband, Harold; two daughters, Sherrin Lee King and RebeccaD. Halton;four grandchildren; parents; her brother, Howard; andsister, Afton.Surviving is her sister, Nora of Layton, Utah; son,Kent, and his wife,Louise, of Omaha Nebraska; 10 grandchildren (BryanDenkers, and his wife,Karen, of Oma-ha, Nebraska); and 18great-grand-children. Her finalresting place will be Wasatch LawnMemorial Park in Salt Lake City Utah. Published in the Salt Lake Tribune on 1/24/2005.
