  Joel was listed as a Mill Foreman on his 1867 Marriage Certificate. Future brother in law, Edwin Colony witnessed the marriage, as did his sister, Susie Lucia. Joel Lucia is listed on the 1880 Little Suamico Township, Oconto County, Wisconsin Federal Census.  He is listed as age 37, born New York. Wife Allen?, age 27, born Maine.  Children in household are Atna, Hattie, Anna, Nellie, Nancy and Esther. Listed in 1860 Oconto County, WI census.  Last name is misspelled as Lusha. Joel Lucia was listed on a 1897 General Affidavit for Edwin Colony's Pension request.  He stated he knew Edwin Colony before and after he entered the U.S. Service.   Edwin listed in his own declaration for pension that he lived in Little Suamico, Wisconsin in 1858 and 1859. He must have came to Little Suamico, Wisconsin with his sister Millicent Conn and her husband Adna Conn. In the 1897 statement, he stated his age to be 53 years of age, placing his birth at about 1844.
