- Hale: Margaret Hale, 86, a lifetime resident of Grant County, entered eternal rest Saturday morning at her home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1904, at the original HW ranch at Camp Fleming in the Mangus Valley. She was a member of a pioneer ranching family.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 in the Cliff Mesa Cemetery with the Rev. David Goble officiating. Survivors include two sons, Lee Horace Rice of Oracle, Calif., and William Bates Kirkland of Roswell; a daughter, Cassie June Garber of San Diego; and a brother, Denton Dell Hooker of Fort Bayard.
She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
