Richard Edsall, (1750-1823), was at the battles of Long Island, White Plains, Brandywine, Germantown and Monmouth. He was commissioned lieutenant, 1777, and on the death of his captain was promoted. At the age of seventy he was placed on the the pension roll of Sussex county for service of lieutenant in the New Jersey Line. He was born in Hardyston and died in Vernon township, N. J.
