Deceased Name: John W. Waldrip
TYLER - John Wallace Waldrip, a retired grocer and former Grapevine resident, died Sunday at a Tyler nursing home. He was 93.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville. Burial will be in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
Mr. Waldrip was born in Oxford, Miss.
He lived in Chillicothe, Hardeman County, for many years, and where he was in the grocery business for 44 years. He was a charter member of the Lions Club in Chillicothe.
He moved to Grapevine in 1963 after retiring.
Mr. Waldrip was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist church.
Survivors: Wife for 69 years, Ruby Jewel Waldrip of Tyler; son, Howard Waldrip of Tyler; daughter, Bobbie Ferguson of Granbury; sister, Clara Jenkins of Electra; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
