John P. Little vs. The Heirs of Moses Skaggs, dec ,d
John P. Little complains of William Matthews, Administrator of Moses Skaggs, deceased and
Alexander Skaggs, William Matthews and wife, Nancy, late Nancy Skaggs, William Mayfield
and wife, Sally, late Sally Skaggs, Alfred Pittman and wife, Martha, late Martha Skaggs,
Margaret Skaggs, Thomas Jefferson Skaggs, John Franklin Skaggs, Charlotte Temple Skaggs,
Angelina Skaggs and James Fleming Skaggs (six last named infants under 21 years) heirs of Moses
Skaggs, decd in a plea of trespass on the case in assumpset. For that the said Moses Skaggs in his
lifetime at on being indebted to Little in the sum of $81.71 for goods, wares and
merchandise before that time sold and delivered by Little to said Moses Skaggs at his special
instance and request during tae lifetime of said Moses according to the account annexed in
consideration thereof then and there promised to pay the sum to Little when demanded yet though
often requested Moses Skaggs hath never paid the sum but wholly neglected and refused so to do and
afterwards departed this life on and said William Matthews afterwards on was duly
appointed. The administrator of Moses Skaggs estate and receive the same into his hands and
possession and then and there notice taat tae said $81.71 was never paid but was still due from
the intestate at the time of his death and was still due and unpaid when he , William Mathews
administered on the estate of said Moses. Yet Matthews has wholly refused and still refuses to pay
the same though often requested so to do and likewise the heirs above named have had due notice.
That their ancestor in his lifetime never paid the sum of $81.71 to Little nor has the administrator
since his death paid the sum or any part thereof though often requested to do so. Yet they wholly
disregarding their obligation and debt of their ancestor as above set forth have wholly refused to
discharge the sum and doth still refuse to discharge or pay the same although property sufficient to
satisfy the full amount of the same and interest thereon came to their hands as heirs of Moses Skaggs,
decd contrary to their duty under the statute and to the damage of Little $150, therefore he sues.

To the Sheriff of Hart County Greeting:
We again command you to summon to take William Matthews, Administrator of Moses Skaggs,
decd, Alexander Skaggs, William Matthews and wife, Nancy, William Mayfield and wife, Sally,
Alfred Pittman and wife, Martha, Margaret Skaggs, Thomas Jefferson Skaggs, John Franklin
Skaggs, Charlotte Temple Skaggs, AngeUna Skaggs, James Fleming Skaggs (six last named
infants under 21 years of age) heirs of Moses Skaggs, decd if they be found in your bailiwick and
taem safely keep so that you have their bodies before the Judge of the Green County Circuit Court
at the courthouse in Greensburg on tae first day of our August term next to answer John P. Little of
a plea of trespass on the case in assumpsit damages $150. 00 and have then there this writ. Witness
John Barret clerk of our said court at the clerk's office in Greensburg this 15th day of June 1841 and
