- Was born as Carl Ernest Mitchell, Jr. to Carl Ernest Mitchell and Doris Mae Ripper, then his parents got divorced and was adopted by his step-father Willard Cruse Guilliams and changed his name to Carl Ernest Guilliams, he was called "Leroy" Guilliams by his aunts.

Deceased Name: Carl E. Guilliams
Carl E. Guilliams, 75, of Cochise, AZ (Richland Ranchettes) died May 28, 2001 in Willcox. Carl was born on September 20, 1925 in Webb City, MO to Willard C. and Dorothy May (Ripper) Guilliams.
He came to Arizona in 1948 and to Richland in 1984.
Carl was a retired Boiler Maker for Kenncott Copper Corp. for 35 years.
He was very active in the Democratic Party especially during the 70s when he started out as treasurer and moved up to president of the Pinal County Democratic Party, he was also active in the boilermakers union and was a firm believer in the union and helped in many issues.
Carl is survived by his sons Ernie (Sylvia) Guilliams of Coolidge, AZ and David (Nancy) Guilliams of Pagosa Springs, CO and a daughter Jacklain (Randall) Rice of Oracle, AZ. Also surviving is his sister, Med Mitchell of MI and 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his wife Margaret on March 11, 1999, a granddaughter Cindy Mann and his parents. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 1, 2001 at 10:30 am at the Cochise Cemetery. Services under the direction of Westlawn Chapel & Mortuary in Willcox, AZ.
