Dorothy Gleghorn
Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 30, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Dorothy Gleghorn of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Gleghorn, 83, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia.
Rev. Daniel Phelps will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be Bimbo West, Clay Porter, Travis West, Chase Gleghorn, Charles Gleghorn, and Michael Gleghorn.
Mrs. Gleghorn was born September 1, 1926 in Buffalo Valley, New Mexico; the daughter of Robert E. Warren and Leslie E. (Holloway) Warren.
She came to Artesia in 1926 from Buffalo Valley. On August 7, 1943 she was married to Boyce Charles Gleghorn in Artesia.
Dorothy was a homemaker and of the Presbyterian faith. She was also a former member of the Artesia Moose Lodge, and Elks lodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Rosemary Weaver; brothers Rodrick Warren, Melvin Warren, and Thomas Warren; and son Toby Gleghorn.
Survivors include her husband Boyce Charles Gleghorn of the family home; sons Warren D. Gleghorn and wife Charlotte of Artesia, and Robbie R. Gleghorn of Artesia; daughters Brenda G. West and husband Rodney of Artesia, and Tammie L. Powers and husband Danny of Artesia; sister Frances Shields of Carlsbad, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
