- The following excerpt taken from the Skaggs Rootsweb emails: Date: Fri, 6 Mar 1998 14:08:27 EST From: WileneSmth To: skaggs-L@rootsweb.com (My own note: Partial message, which may pertain to this Henry) To the best of our present knowledge, there were two Henry SKAGGS'inthis part of Kentucky at that time -- Henry SKAGGS, the Long Hunter, whosettled on Pitman Creek and d. 1809-1810, and Henry SKAGGS (b. 1759, SC,d.1851-1852, Grayson Co., KY) who settled first on Russell Creek in present-dayGreenCo., then moved to Rock Creek in present-day Grayson Co. If Henry SKAGGSb.1759 is indeed the son of Aaron, and Aaron is indeed a brother of Henry, theLong Hunter, then the two Henrys are uncle and nephew. So theearlierparagraph concerning Pitman's Station begins with Henry, the nephew, and endswith Henry, the uncle.
By 1790, Henry, settled on Russell Creek which runs throughpresent-dayAdair Co. into Green Co. and empties into the Green River, which is inthesoutheast sector of Green Co. So, while the two Henrys were in Green Co. atthesame time, they were in different parts of the county.
