Mr. Elliott W. Skaggs, 87, of 115 Pine Street, in Campbellsville,formerly of the Maple Community in Taylor Co., son ofthe late Williamand Nancy Sutton Skaggs, was born in Taylor Co., April15, 1884. He diedat the Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville at6:30 a.m. Wednesday,Oct. 27th. He had been a patient at the Boston'sConvalescent Center herein Campbellsville for the past two years. Heprofessed faith in Christearly in life and was a member of the ZionSeparate Baptist Church. Hewas a retired employee of the the L&NRailroad. He united in marriage toMiss Rosie Jane Watson in 1909. Shepreceded him death in 1946. OnSeptember 9, 1950, he united in marriageto Mrs. Lona Thompson DeWitt andto this union one son and one daughterwere born. Roger Michael Skaggsdied in infancy. Surviving is Mrs.Erlene Lawson of Campbellsville.Besides his wife and daughter, he issurvived by one step-son: RonnieDeWitt of Buffalo, Route 1; one fosterdaughter, Mrs. Earl Rafferty ofCampbellsville, Rt. 2; one grandson;two step-grandchildren; one fostergranddaughter; one fostergreat-granddaughter; one brother and twosisters: Mrs. Verna Underwoodof Campbellsville; Mrs. Pearl Shofner andMr. Ernest Skaggs both ofCampbellsville, Star Route. Funeral serviceswere conducted at 2:00p.m. Friday, October 29th in the Zion SeparateBaptist Church by Rev.F. T. Pepper, Rev. J. H. Bloyd and Rev. RobertMorris. Burial inBrookside Cemetery. Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home incharge ofarrangements. Pallbearers were: Willie Sprowles, Eugene Wright,BradleyUnderwood, Johnnie Sprowles, Winsfred Skaggs and Jimmie Salsman.
